BBC Ten Pieces has an exciting opportunity for teachers at primary schools and organisations using Ten Pieces to get some hands on experience and advice from professional music leaders and work alongside the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
Entries have just opened for the Gloucestershire Young Musician of the Year 2018 contest, which offers a £500 cash prize and performance platform at the Cheltenham Music Festival, the Carducci Festival, as well as concerto concerts with the Gloucestershire Symphony Orchestra and Gloucestershire Youth Orchestra.
On Friday 2nd June a concert was held at Cirencester Parish Church to celebrate the wonderful vocal talents of Gloucestershire’s young people and to highlight some of the opportunities available in our county for passionate singers.
Music & Drama Education Expo|Manchester features over 20 workshops, lectures, debates and Q&A’s from award-winning pedagogues, leading practitioners and some of the biggest organisations and institutions in the industry.
Auditions are for entry into both the Junior Choir (upper voices age 9 – Year 9) and the Senior Choir (SATB, girls Year 10+ and boys with changed voices). The choirs meet twice a year, at Easter and in the summer, for 6 day residential courses.
On Saturday 10th June, young musicians from Gloucestershire Music (Local Authority Music Service) will help celebrate the BBC Music Day. Our BBC Ten Pieces day will be held at three locations in Stroud, Gloucester and the Forest of Dean.
