Bursaries and Support

Don't Stop The Music!

We want every young person to be able to take part in music and be able to follow the progression paths they wish.  We understand that many families struggle to stretch to afford these opportunities.  Where possible we keep costs down to a minimum to cover our delivery costs and most activities are  heavily subsidised by the Hub.  Where those subsidies don't apply we offer bursaries to help cover the cost.  The categories covered include:

  • families facing financial barriers / on low income
  • pupils eligible for pupil premium
  • Looked After Children (LAC)

We may be able to support instrumental tuition, instrument hire, ABRSM exam entry discounts through our bursary schemes.  Associated charities linked to our delivery partners may also be able to help further subsidise attending local activities, music groups/ensembles, workshops that are on offer as well as progression routes into National Groups and Further Music Education.

GSW Music Hub Glos offer the following bursary.  However, our individual delivery partners offer additional bursaries for the activities they run so you should check out our 'Delivery Partners' page and contact them for more details on how they can support children to make music.

Please don't hesitate to contact us and we can talk through your individual situation and find you the help you need.

School and Community Support - Music Development Grants

Grants of up to £500 are available (subject to funding availability) to help schools or community groups to respond to the DFE Music Hub grant's vision or specific aims for the funding:

  • All children and young people receive a high-quality music education in the early years and in schools
  • All music educators work in partnership, with children and young people’s needs and interests at their heart
  • All children and young people with musical interests and talents have the opportunity to progress, including professionally

These broad aims might align with specific needs that you have identified when working with your young people and you might be a wonderful idea that will provide a musical opportunity that is inclusive and inspiring for those students.  Read through the application form in the link below and see if you might be eligible for financial support towards your initiative.
