Published

This year Ten Pieces is going to be celebrating BBC Music Day on Thursday 15th June. All schools can join in with the BBC’s UK-wide celebration of music by putting on special Ten Pieces Assemblies.

The assemblies are a chance for schools to celebrate their school’s musical life and get creative with classical music. If schools are not sure where to start here’s a few suggestions:

  • Showcase creative responses – use the assembly to share students’ creative responses to any of the pieces – you can take a look at previous examples on the Creative Response Showcase for inspiration
  • Perform one of the pieces – assemble the school orchestra, choir or any other groups together to perform any of the pieces. You can find downloadable arrangements for each piece on the website
  • Watch the Ten Pieces films – schools can use the assembly to show the Ten Pieces films (or parts of them) to get students inspired. The films are available on DVD or can be shown as online clips.

Further details and a sign-up form for schools taking part in a Ten Pieces Assembly are on the website. Schools that sign-up will receive a special Ten Pieces Assembly merchandise pack.
