Peripatetic Instrumental Lessons
Peripatetic Instrumental Lessons

Once a child (or adult!) has been inspired to try an instrument and found one they like, it's time to start having tuition so they can build on the basics and start to progress in their music making.
What are the benefits of learning an instrument?
-
Cognitive Development: Learning an instrument enhances memory, attention, and problem-solving skills. It’s linked to improved performance in subjects like math and reading.
-
Discipline and Patience: Regular practice teaches children the value of persistence, delayed gratification, and time management.
-
Emotional Expression: Playing music provides a healthy outlet for emotions and helps children develop emotional intelligence.
-
Confidence Building: Mastering an instrument and performing in front of others boosts self-esteem and public speaking skills.
-
Creativity and Imagination: Music encourages creative thinking and innovation, allowing children to explore and express their individuality.
-
Social Skills: Group lessons, bands, or orchestras foster teamwork, communication, and a sense of community.
-
Cultural Awareness: Exposure to different musical styles and traditions broadens children’s understanding of the world.
-
Motor Skills and Coordination: Playing an instrument improves fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and overall physical dexterity.
Where can a child have small group or individual lessons?
- Schools should provide progression routes for children to take advantage in school time. Some schools may choose to engage self-employed / freelance tutors who they source and manage themselves (i.e. DBS checks, qualifications, safeguarding requirements etc.) and may in some cases choose to employ them on their staff.
- If you wish to seek support in providing such provision and tutors, we can take care of that for you as well as providing all the checks and admin associated. You can reach out to:
